Deletion of Final Scene for the Midterm Submission
In the original story board planning, the film ended with a scene of the daughter in the passenger seat of the car while her boyfriend is driving them to their date. She was supposed to slowly pull out the knife and stare intently at it to contemplate the decisions she's made (and going to make). Several close up shots, reverse shots, and zooms would've been used to help convey this. However, due to the time constraint of two minutes of the final cut of the film, my co-director and I came to the conclusion that the only way to meet the time requirement was to take out the final scene, along with two unimportant pans at the beginning of the film. We knew that the ending of the film after the deletion would still be good and still showed an ending that left questions for the viewers that would entice them the watch the rest of the film.
